Internet Civil Judgment Registry

Date

Dear Defendant:

The monetary judgment that was awarded against you, the DEFENDANT, to the PLAINTIFF, on DATE in COURT CASE NUMBER in COUNTY AND STATE for JUDGMENT AMOUNT has been registered with the Internet Civil Judgment Registry.

This judgment information will be published in the Registry’s Internet database within 30 days of the date of this letter and it can also be found by searching your name in Google and other popular search engines.

The information appearing in your database record will be your name, city and state, the plaintiff’s name, city and state, the date of the judgment, the case number, the court, county and state where it was awarded and judgment amount.  Street addresses are not published in the database.  However, street address information will be provided to those attempting to legally enforce the judgment or verify your identity for related purposes, such as rental applications, credit or other debt collections.

The Registry database is a free searchable database of civil judgments submitted by plaintiffs, attorneys, collection agencies, judgment recovery agents or anyone interested in helping a plaintiff obtain information that can lead to collection of a monetary judgment.

The majority of the judgments in the database can be found in searchable Internet court databases in most states.  The purpose of the Registry is to combine these court databases into a single searchable, free database that makes it easy to determine whether or not there are outstanding court-awarded civil judgment against someone.

This judgment will NOT be published in the Registry if a Satisfaction of Judgment is received from either you, the defendant, or the plaintiff within 30 days from the date of this letter.

A Satisfaction of Judgment is a document that the plaintiff is required to file with the court after you pay the judgment.  This allows the court to record the judgment as being paid and no longer due.

If we do not receive a Satisfaction of Judgment on this debt within the 30-day deadline, we will publish the judgment.  However, we will promptly remove your name from the database if we receive a certified copy of a Satisfaction of Judgment any time after your judgment information is published.  The Satisfaction of Judgment should be mailed to the Registry at our address shown above.

Sincerely,
